Members of the St. Paul Congregation serve in the community in a variety of ways to show God's love for all of us.

S.O.N. Ministries

A number of members of the St. Paul congregation either sponsor collections of money, groceries, and school materials for S.O.N. Ministries (Serving Our Neighbors) or volunteer there on a regular basis. S.O.N. is an ecumenically- and community-supported food pantry, located at Groesbeck United Methodist Church on Colerain Avenue. It serves families located at ZIP codes within the Northwest School District and provides an emergency 3 to 4 day supply of food items and toiletries. In a recent month it served 90 families (300 children and adults).

In July 2011, the St. Paul congregation collected school supplies consisting of notebook paper, folders, pads of paper, markers, highlighters, pencils, pens, boxes of crayons, glue sticks, rulers, erasers, and pencil boxes. These will help fill the backpacks that S.O.N. distributes to children at the beginning of the school year. The St. Paul congregation also sent along prayers that the children receiving these materials will grow in understanding and have a year of exceptional learning.

Baby Quilts

The St. Paul congregation supports the Newborn Intensive Care Unit at Good Samaritan Hospital by making and donating quilts to use while the babies are in the hospital and to be taken home by the family when the baby is discharged. This project was started in 2000 and has provided nearly 600 quilts in that time. So far this year, the congregation has donated 68 quilts. Materials are donated, quilt tops are sewn by members of the congregation, and the quilting group, including both members and non-members, helps tie the quilts together before they are sent to Good Samaritan.  Click here for pictures
